you didn't say whether or not it matters if I connect in line between the key and the original OEM ballist or can I hook it up between the original OEM ballist and the coil? the other side

Here is some more of Dell's good advice..
There are 4-common runtime issues for the squarecan 4-nipple frontmount N-Engine.

1) runs for about 1-min and quits; re-starts in 5-mins; bad condenser
NOT yer stated problem
2) runs for about 5-mins and quits; re-starts in 10-mins; clogged fuel filters NOT yer stated problem 3) runs for about 15-mins and quits; restarts in about 1/2-hr; BAD ignition switch
NOT yer stated problem, but could be 4) runs for about 1-hr and quits; restarts in about 4-hrs or overnite cooldown
sound like yer problem? BAD IGNITION COIL

Check yer weaksister ignition switch first. $10 (cheap)

Well I put the ballist resistor inline to the coil between it and the original OEM resistor. Tractor runs but after it warms up, it sputters but doesn't stall or didn't before I shut it down. Is the coil fried or is it now the ignition switch or spark plugs? remember this has the pertronix unit and not the points so that shouldn't be the problem.

Ron..... ...I said it doesn't matter electrically. Hook it anyway that is convienent. You'll probably find it more convienent to hook the 12-6 volt converting resistor between the coil and the "infamous ballast resistor". Use yer fertle imadgination..... .....respectfully, Dell

not to bore you any further but my tractor still runs good at first without missing and then after warm up it starts missing and then stalls.
So question is ..... ..whats the chances at this point I can salvage the coil without replacing it?
