I recently aquired a 6ft Dearborn sickle bar mower.
Model # 14-67 Serial #1299
3 point hitch type. Belt driven steel pitman arm.

I have found all kinds of info for it.
Even some manuals for it.
But no where can I find when it was manufactured.
I couldn"t find any history of Dearborn implements.

Thanks.

I have an old Dearborn sickle mower (cannot remember the number) that came with the 8N many years ago. Dad never could get it to work well, and it was a severe pain to mount. When I went to move it from the old home place to the farm I was moving to I tried to mount it onto the 8N, and after about 30 minutes of saying bad things gave up and drug it onto the trailer and hauled it. Perhaps others have had better success, but as far as this one is concerned it was hard to mount, and did not really cut that well either. I still have the special knucles to go on the 3 point as well as the mount to go under the tractor to attach under the fender. Not trying to down anyones equipment - just relaying my own experience with the particular one I own which has been in the family for about 36 years or so.

Pooh Bear, I agree with Dell jan. 1954 was first. Refer to this mower as a single belt metal pitman mower. Mowers before this had two belt metal pitman and after starting in 1955 was the 14-92 (501) single belt wood pitman mower.

Well then, I guess it is a 1954 model.
It has a single belt and a steel pitman arm.

Thanks.

Now to go read that link that someone posted below here.

Pooh..... .....according to "Ford Tractor Implements" by Peterson & Beemer, their index sez the 14-67 rear 3-point mounted sicklebar mower started production in 1954. Dearborn Implements was Ford's response to the dissolution of the "handshake agreement" between Harry Ferguson and Henry Ford in 1947.

Since you now have the sicklebar mower, and since you have even located manuals for it; I'll bettcha the manual will have the dates yer looking for inn-itt.

You do realize most Ferguson and Dearborn implements are just re-labled implements made by other companys to Ferguson or Dearborn specifications, don't you?..... ...respectfully, Dell

No I didn"t know that. Makes sense tho.

One of the manuals I have had this to say
from the person who posted the manual.
----- ----- -
This is from a June 1957 dealer Master Parts Book for the Dearborn model 14-59 rear attached sickle mower. Much of this info also applies to the 14-67 and 14-73 models:
----- ----- ----- ---

Some of the pages mention the 14-67 and some don"t.
To me it all looks like the exact same SBM I have.

I also found the owner/operator manual for the 14-15 and 14-16. It also looks just like mine.
The 14-15 is for a 6 foot mower. Same as mine.

So I have the manuals to figure it out.
Just wondering what year it was made.
Or any history of the Dearborn company for that matter.

Thanks.
