i just had my two front tires replaced and noticed how much lighter my front end seems to be. I'm assuming the front tires were filled with something to add weight to the front end. What's the best fluid to put in and what's the best way to get it into the tires? How much do I put in? How much goes in the back tires?

Thanks, Alan

I think the best is a product called "Rimguard". It does not freeze, or corrode the rims. It is pricy, and probably not needed if you are in a climate where the temperature doenst get minus 20.

tire gallons weight added per tire, 75% fill

4.00-19 3 25

5.50-16 5 42

6.00-16 6 50

6.50-16 7 58

11.2-28 27 225

12.4-28 35 292

This asumes water ballast.. other ballast materials will affect weight.

Napa / carquest sells a valve you can hook a water hose too.

My self I use wiper fluid in my tires, doesn't rust the rims and animals will not drink the stuff and die from it. As far as how much I can't say but if you drop me an e-mail I'll send you a page from a 1935 owner manaul that shows how to put fluid in the tires
