I am looking for a used disc harrow for my 8N. I wont need one until next spring now. I am in Sauk County, Wisconsin.

I also have my eyes open for a 2 row corn planter that will work on the same tractor.

How far will you be willing to travel? There is a Ford 3pt. Model 309 corn planter (dont know if it will fit 8N) in Little Chute and a 2 row corn planter somewhere in area code 715 that I know are for sale---

I disagree. I have had great luck buying used implements, everything from PHD to finish mowers to seed and fertilizer spreaders. You can tell when they have been taken care of and when they have not. While I don't do any haying, my neighbor does and he has had very good luck buying hay cutters and balers used. A form of recycling, if you will.

I agree Mike,
The new stuff that I could afford isn't made very well. I'd rather find something used and spend some time tinkering with it. Bought a used 3 pt. 7' 4 gang disc about 4 years ago for $55. It came with about 10 extra disc blades. Spent another $125 putting new bearings in it and now have a good machine that will probably outlast me.
Also, If I didn't have something to tinker with I'd probably just waste my $ at the bar.
I've never heard of anyone getting a DWI. (Discing While Intoxicated)

I agree with you two guys; used stuff is great and I enjoy going to farm auctions to look for it. I have had many successes and one small failure getting used stuff. Looking is half the fun.
