I have a jubilee and have been letting it sit for over five years and it seems that good intentions haven't just don't work. After two days of getting it back on the jacks several times. I finally worked things out. seems a slight grade and dirt make it difficult, what with the front axle pivoting the way it does. Anyway I got it jacked up and on solid footing. It is tiring for me, age seems to be a factor. plus being sedentary for a year and a half hasn't helped. I got the fenders off with little effort once I got the right tools together. I have also removed the draw bars and a few other minor pieces. I've got a good power washer and will power wash the tractor, probably this week end. I'm going to tape off every orifice that I can find. I have an attachment that I can add to my power washer that siphons sand and makes it a sand blaster but with a water and sand mix. I haven't decided how close to the engine block I will do the blasting. I think, though, that I will keep it away from the engine entirely. I'm going to remove the tires tomorrow and the electrical stuff. I'm not going to remove the starter or the governor. I will have to get someone to put a few welds on the fender where it broke at the hole.

I think, at this point anyway, that I am going to paint it with Rustolem Red. brush and spray can.

I'll keep y'all posted if you want. thanks oslo

Ultra and K, I have taken measures to see that the jack stands are on 4X6" boards. I did notice one thing about putting a tractor up on dirt and that is you have to be sure everything is perfectly level. What with the pivot point on the front end. Weight tends to shift easily with that. I am going to be careful with the sand blaster. I don't want sand anywhere inside the tractor.

I did get the fenders removed. It took a lot of tongue twisting to get it done. It wasn't farmitized, thank goodness. I'm going to remove the tires, again. Jacking up the tractor on dirt and on a slight slope has some unique problems. I got that wheel reinvented and the tractor is sitting solid now.

Oslo,
I'd take a stick and block the clutch down before you wash it. I've heard of several clutches rusting stuck after pressure washing.

I use pieces of 3/4" plywood under my jack stands on bare ground. Solid ground or gravel can go soft on you or shift without any warning. One of these days I'm going to have a garage with a concrete floor. Always Be Safe! and watch that water-sand mix. It will get into everything including pockets, shoes, hair, your dinner, etc.
