My oil pressure gauge is showing about 5#'s
I recently had a new oil pressure valve and spring installed. It brought my pressure from 15 up to 25#'s. It worked for about 1 week then all of a sudden the gauge was showing 5#'s, but when I shut the tractor down the needle jumps from 5#'s to 25#'s for a quick second.

The gauge looks pretty old, is it possiable that it could simply be the gauge went bad.

Also the oil level is in the middle of the safe zone on the stick.

any thoughts?

I agree with the others.. try a new gauge first.. then if that don't do it.. then panic.. ( not really).. Heck.. try lots of tricks.. like shimming the spring alittle...

I thought my oil pressure was low too. My '52 8N still had the original guage and it was leaking internally. I bought a new gauge and was surprised to find out that I had 35 - 40 lbs. at idle cold , 20 - 25 lbs. at idle when it was hot and 40 - 45 lbs. above 1,200 r.p.m hot or cold. I'd try a new guage for sure; they're cheap. GA Jim

I would try a new gauge first. Yes it could be bad.
