Our local TV news last night had a feature about a little-known (Missouri) law. It seems that the state gasoline tax of 17 cents a gallon is a highway tax only, and they have to refund it if the gas is going into farm equipment, a lawnmower, a boat, etc.!For people living in Missouri, go to>Link and>Link download Form 4924 Motor Fuel Refund Application and Form 4923 Motor Fuel Refund Claim. Mail the application in to get on file with the state as a claimant, then every time you put fuel in a tractor, etc. send in a "refund claim" form with the gas or diesel receipt. Missouri refunded over $15 million to consumers this way last year. If you live outside Missouri, you might check to see if your state has a similar law on the books. This is something people don't know about here, and I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't the same where you are. I drove my 8N to a gas station yesterday and put in about 7 gallons that cost over $11. Now that I know about this refund law, at least I'll get the state tax back next time. - Sam
