You have heard of Tennis Elbow?
Well I got Tractor Knee.
Moved a lot of dirt today with my rear scoop.
Drive the 8N down by the river. 3rd gear.
Get to the river mash the clutch to shift to 1st gear.
Position tractor and drop scoop. Drive forward
until the scoop is so full the tractor stops moving.
Mash clutch, shift to neutral, raise scoop.
Mash clutch shift into first gear, take off again.
Get back up hill from river, mash clutch and shift to 3rd gear.
Drive back to house where dirt is being dumped.
Mash clutch, shift to first gear, drive into place.
Mash clutch, dump scoop, move forward.
When clear of dirt pile, mash clutch and stop.
Drop scoop to reset the catch that holds the scoop.
Raise scoop, mash clutch, shift into 3rd, drive back to river.
I gotta say, after doing this routine all day,
my left knee hurts something alful and I can hardly walk.
Mashing that clutch over and over is hard on the left knee.

Sure is some great seat time tho.
If I can walk tomorrow I'll be at it again.
Only got about 10,000 more trips to go.

Sounds like you could use a Live Thang or move up to an NAA or Hundred series. Live hydraulics are a beautiful thing! (or is that "thang"?)

Pooh, I have gone through some similar stuff. I suffer mostly from "3 point neck" during snow season looking at the rear blade.

Or snowblower neck, caused by having to drive in reverse while blowing snow. Not nearly as annoying in a heated cab tractor with power steering though. Gotta get me one of them!

Tractor Knee, Three Point Neck, Shifting Wrist, yeah I get those too. But are we complaining or bragging? I wonder if the real farmers did like us when they were gathered at the grange hall or at church on Sunday . . . . .

That’s Zackly why i installed Zanes Live Thang its the best improvement one kin make to hiz tractor. I did the same thing you are do"in and it would have been better off to had dirt hauled in at the cost of fuel I burnt a tank full of gas and had very little dirt to show fer it. I had to make my runs across a roufh field and it took the fun out of it, each run wuz 1800 feet round trip. I ran 7 miles for 20 scoops. The pond damm izz still leak"in and uncle izz gonna tear it out in the next few mt. so looks like i git to waste sum more gas fer free dirt. I need to post a pix and see iffin i kin git a i"de on how to stop it from leak"in at the spill way. One suggestion wuz to dump a load of saw dust at the leak and it may stop it.

I don't know if it helps or not, but if you can get the water level down a bit so the leaking part is where you can get to it, there is a clay you can spread over it that will seal it. You do it like you would put down and spread a load of anything else. --Dawn

Yeah, I call it clutch-knee. The dirt scoop really takes it out of the left leg. I've got a Ferguson TO-20 and the other thing I get is a sore spot on the top of my right wrist from scrubbing the bottom of the steering wheel while doing all that shifting with the scoop.

Hey, I often suffer from that, too! The only difference is instead of my left knee being sore from clomping on the clutch, it's usually sore from getting bashed into the dashboard. Ouch! I need a loooonger tractor.

I have a three point neck problem. This comes from always turning and looking back to my right. Lately, I have tried to look back to the left when ever it is possible to try and equal things out.

PB,
You pretend to be complaining but secretly I think you're bragging.
Sounds like some good sea time.
Lucky.
I wont even get to see my tractor this week.

Yeah, I got to admit, I loved every minute of it.
I'm trying to fill up the ditch in front of my house.
It will make the front yard look better
and some places will be safer to mow.

A guy from the county said I could fill in the ditch
but if it caused a problem with drainage then
it would have to be dug out again.
I've been here for 10 years and never seen any
water in that ditch. Even during the worst river flood.
So I don't expect any problems.

If I had headlights on the tractor
I would go back out there now and do some more.
Gonna be hot tomorrow.
