Hey Tim,

To the best of my knowledge, the SK-20 is nearly identical to the Dearborn 13-2 series, and the parts are interchangeable.

I have a 13-2, with 10 (of 11) shanks, 4" shovels (two are actually 6" shovels), and my 8N pulls it really nicely both in 3rd and 2nd (3rd is a little fast when ya are working close to delicate squash vines!). I"m usually able to run at about 4-5" depth. The soil just flies! ;-) I"m working in a heavy sandy loam.

Colin

With my Ferguson parts book in front of me, they
came with ll shanks. There was a model 22 which I
have never seen that had 6 shanks. That was used as
a field cult and came w/o center fin, shields.
Many users took shanks off temporarily to use as
field cults until cultivating time. Some got sold
and the shanks laid in the shed along with the
shields. Your tractor will pull it nice with 11
shanks(unless you are trying to use it as a sub-
soiler) Chuck

Thanks Chuck---this cult. does not have the center fin and shields, but seller said there were 2 "pipe-looking" metal pieces bolted to the rear of the cultivaor and extending about 12 inches straight up off of the cult. I am picking it up next week so will get a chance to see what that is all about. ---Tim

They came with five, seven and nine shanks. I have one with seven and my 8N or my Ferguson TO 20 would not pull more that that.

The spring shank cultivator is not made for cultivating row crops. It is for breaking up the soil.

I use mine to break up my garden instead of a turning plow by making about four or five passes at different angles and then finish it up with my walk behind rotor tiller. I only have a 40X60 plot so it is no big deal to do it. We used to use it on big fields when sowing grain.
