Hello All,

The owner of a Ford tractor is trying to identify if this is a 2N or 9N. When they purchased the tractor ir was supposed to be a 1939 9N. There are serial numbers on the tractor in different places that start with 9N585. Any help would be appreciated. Email me and I will email pictures.

Is this the one on ebay that claims to have a s/n on the rear axle? Any numbers on the rear axle will be either part numbers or date codes. As stated below, the ONLY place the serial number is located is on the engine block.

In looking at your auction, I noticed the tractor had oval radius rods. If those are original, then you most certainly have a 2N from 1944 - 1947.

Check the link provided in the responce down below and read that. It will help you figure out what you have.

There is only ONE serial mumber, on the engine block, as shown in this link. If you can read the number there, it will identify it, providing the engine has not been swapped in the past.
