Will someone go through the stepts for alignment.I have an early model. Exactly where are the alignment marks, what do they line up with, and how should the steering gear be setting, and do you do all the adjustment with the turnbuckle. Thanks guys..... R.M.in AL.

What alignment marks? Are you talking about toe-in? Measure this with a tape ruler. The front should toe in about 1/4 - 1/8" Toe out and camber caster is fixed and cannot be done by ordinary means. (Unless you are into heavy metal bending and twisting.) The steering arms should both be towards the back (5 o clock position looking from the left side of tractor and 7 o clock looking from the right side of the tractor) This gives you the required toe out on turns. The thingies you call turn buckles are the tie-rod-adjusting sleeves.

Measure the front tires at 3 o clock and at 9 o clock. The front measurement should be about 1/8 to 1/4 less than the back. (distance between the tire at the front and the back.) You would adjust the tie rod sleeves to achive this.
