I am finished with the electrical part. I put a new alternator, new 12V coil, cap, points, plugs, condenser, rotor. Plus a new #1 switch (keyed ign), new #2 switch,(light switch) new push button start switch, new harness (home made) neatly insulated in that corrogated plastic tubing and 2, count'em, two the man said, resistors parallel for the coil voltage, a 194 bulb, neatly mounted in its bracket for the alternator ign wire. The only thing I did not replace was the plug wires because they are metal core wires and all I could find in town are the carbon one size fits all. IT RUNS, IT CHARGES, IT SHUTS OFF (when it is supposed to). It does all the things it is supposed to, when it is supposed to. I also changed the oil, filter, water pump and coolant. Still no wheels, fenders or hood painted or installed but overall I am quite happy with a 58 yr old tractor that has not been run in at least 6 years. (It is hard getting this all done in near 100 degree heat, high humidity and someoe standing at the back door yelling, "how much time and how much money are you going to spend on that thing?") oh, BTW-the lift works good too:^) Thanks for all the help.
