I have what I believe is a 1947 2N and it has been working fine but after a 6 month setup I was doing some box blade work and after about 15 minutes the engine died. I could let it sit for a while and start back for about the sam lenght of time. I replace the gas cap with a vented one but no luck. Does anyone have any ideas?

Use this as a guideline to possible problem: Approx. run time (1 minute +/-)=Bad Condenser; Approx. run time (5 minutes +/-)=Clogged fuel filters; Approx. run time (1 hour +/-)= Bad ignition coil. These notes I have placed in the front of my FO-4 manual. Guideline Only as to possible problem. You be the judge. I got this from a tractor site somewhere.

I had the same problem, with mine, and it turned out to be dirt in the Fuel tank valve, If it sat overnight, It would run about 15 minutes, until the fuel, would dry up, then it would stall, then after an hour or so, I could start it up and it would run for about 10 minutes or so. then die again. so if the previous help doesn't fix you up, you may want to check that the fuel supply valve is letting enough through, should be steady stream, and not just drips. other fuel issues, may be caused by other restrictions, such as a dirty filter, if you have one. Hope this helps.

I know others will answer this too , there is a couple of things this might be. I would first try putting a jumper wire across the ignition switch wires when it does this. Sometimes these switches go bad and build resistance when they get warmed up. Then they don't make the connection anymore. If you do this and it runs again, you will need to install a new switch (costs about 10 bucks I think).
