I recently put a set of rings in my 8n it seemed to be smoking a little. But I can't seem to get it to start after I reassembled it. I have a very strong spark and I seem to be getting fuel. Any other suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

Do you have it timed correctly?

Does a thumb over the spark plug hole produce compression as the cyl is on a compression stroke ( valves ).

If you think all is as it should be, and it is getting gas, and has spark, pull the plugs and att a tablespoon of engine oil to each cyl, roll the engine over a rev or two, then reinstall the plugs and plugs and let her rip.. use choke to help start.. but don't flood.

A brief shot of start fluid may be usefull. once she fires put her to work setting those rings..
