My son has a 99 chevy 4X4 that is going through the brake, tail, and backup light blub boards like crazy. It is not from off road because he is in Norfolk VA. Can't find a reason. Does any body else have this problem. Any help would be great thanks.

they used a common ground point on those trucks for all the brakes and turn signal lites. when it looses ground the lights just go nuts, like the turn signal will make all the parking lights flash and other stupid things like that.
ground is usually found under the left rear fender on the frame.
I spent 2 weeks figuring out mine one time, and thats all it was, just a bad ground

Is it over charging? Put a volt meter across the battery while its running. My 98 chevy is a P.O.S. A happy meal toy has better built parts than the parts in my 98. If you don't belive me look at any of the switches or better yet look at how flimsy the windshield whiper mechanics are built. I can't believe the can call it a truck. Still don't belive me go to any independent parts store and ask what pecentage of parts they sell for GM products. Ask if they could stay in buisness if they could not sell parts for a GM. Come on America!

Shorted or improper trailer hookups?Usually a pretty trouble free setup, however bad seal/cracked lens will let em get wet/dirty and corrode.

Lens and seals are good. Not damp, no corrosion, new boards every time from different parts house, Trailer lights not hooked up. Just remembered the trailer light wires are still bundeled up under the truck I think. Will tell him to check all the suggestions from everyone.

Thanks Roland (AL)
