I am not sure who it was that mentioned that the N distributor is meant to be removed and serviced on the bench but THANK YOU! I thank you, my Ns thank you and my knuckles thank you. It doesn’t mention that in the book that I have and the position of the distributor has caused me to utter one or two discouraging words from time to time.

PQ, idon't know what manual you have but if you do not have the I&T FO-4 Manual you need to beg, borrow, steal, or refinance your house and get this manual. Imakes all work on these "N" tractors much easier, it has pictures, too. Buy one somehow. You will never regret it!!!

I think the first time I heard about that was from Dell,years ago.. the first 2 or 3 times I changed the points in mine(over about 10 years time),I actually pulled the hood and radiator to get to the points.. what a pain..that was before I knew about this forum or an FO4 manual.. Tim
