hi guys, could someone tell me how you advance the fireing, do you turn the distributor like on car engines, and if so where is the bolt located?as you can see im new to tractors. thanks

The front distributor has a small bolt/screw on the left side of the distributor housing about middle ways of the housing. You loosen the screw and move the screw and plate behind it up to make it fire later and down to make it fire earler. High/low, fast/slow, advanc/retard I never did get exactly right.

Depends on the tractor; front or side distributor? If it's a side distributor, yes, it's the same as a car. Timing marks on the flywheel. Loosen the distributor hold down bolt. Not the same fror a front mount distributor! Which do you have?
