I have a 51 8N that now has the .090 cast sleeves and they need to be replaced. Does the threaded rod with the disc that pilots in the sleeve and pushs on the end of the sleeve work well to remove and replace the sleeves. I have rebuilt quite a few auto motors including flat heads but never with the sleeves so I am a little nervous tackling the sleeve replacment myself but if the threaded rod tool works, I think I will give it a try.

The easiest way to get the old sleeves out is to remove the crankshaft and using a proper fitting bushing driver just drive the sleeves up and out of the block.

They can be removed a lot easier if you run about three cold beads from bottom to top with an electric welder inside the sleeve. This will cause the old sleeve to contract and loosen in the bore. Don't try this unless you are an accomplished welder as you don't want to go through the sleeve into the block.
