Obviously i have an 8n, but i am curious what tractor did ford offer about the same size as the N's maybe alittle bigger that was diesel?

Say in the 30-35 horse range. What would an unrestored model cost?

Ford also built the 3 cyl 2000, 3000 series
starting in 1965. You can get them in both gas or diesel. 2000 = 33hp, 3000 = 38hp
They'll run you about twice the price of an N but are 3 times the tractor.

Ford's first diesels were the 601, 701 (144 c.i., about 32 pto h.p.), 801 and 901 (172 c.i., 40-45 h.p.) There were also the Dexta and Super Dexta diesels, and the Majors/Power Majors/ Super Majors. Dextas were 3-cylinders, about 32 h.p., Majors were 4-cylinders, up to 50 h.p.

An 841-D (40 hp +/-) just sold on ebay for about $2700. I have a complete 172 inch diesel engine for sale if you want to build your own.

May be interested in the 172 inch diesel engine you mention if geography doesn't make it impractical. Where in Utah are you? Tell me about the engine and what you want for it.

I am in Montana near Bozeman off I-90

Regards

B.J.

Hey,
Are you the original BJ MT from a few years ago?
As in "Your milage may vary"?
Haven't seen you in a long time.
If so, welcome back!
If not Welcome aboard.

Yep it is I. Beware of Chinese made imitations. There is some benefit to the board's registration of handles.

Had open heart surgery last summer and sort of lost a few months. Back at 'em and shuttling rental cars all over the northern rockies.

Do I recall correctly that you had some kind of patent issue back then?

Your mileage may vary

Yeah we talked about patents then.
Can you believe that was 5 years ago? Sheesh.
I had built that snowplow.
I sold the tractor and plow this spring.
Good to see you're still around.
