I took the governor and cover off exposing the cam shaft gear. I noticed 1/2 of a tooth broken off. Another tooth has a major chip. I assume I have to replace the gear. This one is aluminmum bolt on. I notice three bolt on types availabol; aluminum, fibre and steel. Which one is best. This not a trailer queen and not a working tractor. Just soemthing to mess with!! Motor ran great but smoked HEAVY. Rings are shot. Thanks for any advice since I am new to this.

I would go with the steel gear myself if I had a choice. It will finish wearing the tractor out. Take about 50 years! :O)
