Do they make a mechanism to "lock" the two brake pedals together? I know you are suppose to hit your foot in the middle but I would like to secure the pedals together.

Thank you

Remember something, the brake pedals are mounted on two different planes, one coming from the back and one coming from the front. When the pedals are pushed down together they tend to spred apart. A double lock will need some way of moving. I've been looking at the same situation myself and if I get something done I will post it.

Hate to admit it, but if'n I remember correctly, the H. Ferguson TO-20 and TE-20 had that kind of device. With my #13's, I've really never had much a problem hitting both 8N brake peddles at the same time. Of course, I deny my ex-wife's claim, I had 2 Left Feet on the Dance Floor..... Dell

Not quite sure why you would want to do that. You would eliminate the ability to steer with the brakes which could be a safety issue in many situations. I seriously doubt you could keep the brakes adjusted that accurately to avoid it pulling to one side. Just my opinion.

...both missed seeing the 302 V-8 N at Gray that had disc brakes with the hydraulic lines run through the interior of the tractor body. Now THAT was an engineering masterpiece!

There are times when it's beneficial to have them "tied" together. Running down the road in 4th gear to the gas station, for example. Not a time when you would want to accidentally step on one pedal only (critter runs out in front of you, etc.). If you don't wreck, you'll certainly need to turn around and head home to change your shorts so you don't offend anyone at the gas station.....LOL.

The Thousand series tractors come with a setup similar to the barrel bolt example that bg gave. It's basically an L-bar that slides across, under the pedals to lock the inside pedal to the outside one. It doesn't matter which one you step on, both operate. As mentioned, it's not a bad idea to make sure both side brakes are adjusted equally, or strap on your Depends before you head down the road in high gear.

Yep, and using the brakes alternately will get you unstuck out of a mud hole most of the time.

It wouldn't be difficult to weld a flip tab on one and a catch on the other, or even weld a small barrel-bolt on. Or, you could make a flat-bar or channel frame that would slip over both and bolt the two pedals together in the frame. You'd have to make sure both brakes were adjusted exactly the same.
