First I"d like to thank everyone who participates in this site for all the great advice, wisdom, and know-how that you give to guys just starting out on these old machines, like me. Thanks!!! I"d like to share what I learned putting the ring-gear and differential back together: 1. Replacement bolts at the New Holland dealer now cost $14 a piece ($168 for twelve) and that doesn"t include nuts or pins. Too expensive! 2. Grade 8, 7/16 x 1.5 inch, fine thread bolts cost about $1 a piece. Total cost for 12 bolts, 12 nuts, 12 washers, and 12 cotter pins is less than $25. 3. Look for grade 8 bolts at your local family owned hardware stores. The big time stores hardly carry anything 7/16. 4. The bolts fit real nice but good luck tightening them. I finally gave up trying to get the right torque (58 ft/lbs) and used an impact wrench (worked ok). 5. At a minimum use red loctite to keep the bolts in place. 6. The expensive replacement bolts have holes drilled in the ends for cotter pins. If you want the same thing use a drill press and make yourself some kind of jig to hold the bolts steady. My jig ended being a scrap piece of oak. It all came together pretty nice. I hope the picture I"m trying to attach works out.
