Hi Otto,

I've started using a Bosch 72127 filter. they have a nice tight fit, they seem well made, they have a nice little finger loop for easy removal, and they are very inexpensive from the online import auto places.

Or Fram C3P would work too.

Thank you for the information. I have wanted to rebuild a tractor for years and purchased an old 9N with an 8N engine and a front end loader. I have the bondoing and painting done.

I use NAPA 1010 oil filters. A lot of folks like 10w30 HD, and a lot like 30w HD. Most do seem to prefer detergent over non-detergent. The more worn the engine, the heavier weight you will need. Also, you will need to consider a lighter weight oil in winter if it gets cold where you live. I have a rebuilt 50; I use 30w HD. I also have a 51 & another 50 that I use 10w30 in. Bottom line, you will get a lot of good reasons to use multi-vis or straight weight. I use 30w in rebuilt engines & multi-vis in the others.
