Ive heard all differant kinds of stories from the gear box is lubed thru a slinger from the transmission area, to all sorts of plugs with some hidden, right on down to pour 90wt down the steering wheel tube shaft. If going down the tube shaft isnt there a seal down there and if there is,how does it get past that seal than?
Mine is a 9n tractor,how or where do I check it at? serial# 9n 30069
Thank you for any help

Pay attention..... Your 9N's steering gears are part of the 3-speed tranny coverplate. They are lubricated by "splash-lube" from an oil-slinger that is part of the tranny geartrain. Your gearbox oil is part of 5-gals of 90wt hydro-tranny oil that is checked by the dip-stick in the 6" roundplate behind your right heel. (unless your 9N is an early one with a removeable squarehead pipeplug above your right ankle) ..... ....respectfully, Dell
