I'm a day late and a dollar short getting in on this archives discussion, but hey better late than never.
6 or 7 years ago I stumbled on this board because I was new to computers. I read a few posts and then committed the error of all errors. I challenged Dell on a 12 volt conversion point. I have been using these squat beasts on our farm since around 1963, converted several for neighbors and just didn't understand what he was saying. He blasted me with fact, lined me out with reason and welcomed me to the board. He never whacked me with the archives, which I never noticed, because this one of the first boards I ever visited.
What really hurt was when someone very rudely informed me that typing in all caps was shouting and I needed to get some Internet etiquette. Well I quickly got over that and got on with my life. Thankfully several gentlemen who's names I've forgotten and have since left this board, made me feel at home.
So now I know about the archives, and I try to use them from time to time, but to be honest, when I want to know the Radio Shack number of Dells' secret resistor, I just pop on and ask 'cause it's easier than looking up the info in the archives.
As near as I can tell there's only so many answers to a very few questions, and if everyone used the archives from this day on, we'd have 1 page forum and a 303 page archives.
Soundguy, do what I do, just don't answer the questions that bother you. Other than that you do a great job, so be prepared to be ticked of daily.
Thanx for your support of this board.
Ron

If yer trying to start trouble, you're off to a pretty good start. Don't you be worrying about anybodys' day but yer own. And if yer's ain't all bad, that'd be a good thing. LOL
