What have you done maintenance wize that you are not sharing with us?

Check your frontmount firing order. 1,2,4,3 CCW These N-Engines are sooooo gooood that they will run on just 2-cyl, start eazy but won't have 'nuff power to poop. Usually its sparkie #3 and sparkie #4 gitt swapped when nuebie shadetree mechanics try to install new ignition points without removing the 2-bolt distributor first and change the points on the kitchen table. Points gap = 0.015".

Many times even experienced mechanics use the wrong longer condenser screw to hold the points and the long screw catches the centrifical advance under the points plate and prevents the ignition from advancing and causes low hp. Check yer points gap = 0.015 (they're know to slip) and make certain yer points screw is SHORT #8-32x3/16"..... ...Dell, yer self-appointed sparkie-meister

THANKS DELL - I was incomplete it my set-up of the problem. My apologies. Was running great, having spent about 2 hrs working w/box blade. she seemed to get a little tired toward the end of the work, but made it up the hill to home. I was hoping she'd just cool and rest and be fine. THANKS RP-40-9n - I'll try your suggestion today. Hope it could be that simple. I'm not much of a mechanic...a few steps up from a monkey with a hammer...so I'm moving carefully to not make things worse than they otherwise would be. Today, I'll take a look a the plugs so I can at least report back on that. She does by-the-way have enough oomph when running to raise the box blade - but just. Thank you for your help.

8n 48 to narrow your problem down, start it up on idle-pull the choke out about half way, now give it a little gas, if it picks up speed keep giveing more choke and more gas, if you are able to get the speed up doing this then your problem is definately fuel, if not then it will most likely be a timing problem. post back with your progress.
