I beg to differ. One of the key reasons for the birth of the 8N was the necessity to distance the design of the hydraulic system on the Ford tractors from Harry Ferguson"s patented design after they parted company. No 8N was EVER built with the fork type draft control only hydraulic system that the 9N/2N"s had. If you"ve found one, someone has swapped the earlier hydraulics into it.

4 bolts, pull pto shaft out. Unbolt pump, pry gasket loose, pump falls out.

Thanks, I had read that they were different but I guess in my feeble mind I thought the basic setup was the same just shaped different..How does it connect??

Ball end of the control arm fits into a cup on the valve control pivot arm.

You do have to reach in through the inspection port to align the two unless you get amazingly lucky..

Finaly a questions I can answer. THe one part of my 8N I've rebuilt
