On a Frontmount Distributor the coil has a curved metal piece opposite of the Spring we stretch to touch the condensor/points screw. Should this metal piece be touching the metal pin at the top of the Distibutor Cap? Also, the tractor starts immediately, but runs a bit rough at idle unless I have the choke about 1/4" out, then it runs perfectly. I have followed the Manual and Dell's carb proceedures, but I still have to have the throddle slightly above idle and the choke 1/4" out. This is a new MS Carburetor. 1940-9N Thanks :) Mark

Mark, Yes it should touch the terminal in the cap..second issue sounds like a vaccum leak..spray some WD40 or carb cleaner around the intake with it running..if engine speeds up you found your leak..

Tim
