BOB..... ...I"ll check the spark..... ..but I think its an air leak because as I said before..I can screw the idle mixture screw all the way to seat and it still runs..... .that wouldn"t be ignition..... .....
But I can"t figure out where it would be leaking.
I didn"t replace the accelerator lingage because I didn"t see a visable problem. Could that be leaking.

My soninlaw told me to put it back together and on the tractor and then spray some carb clean on it while its running to see if it changes running at all to find the leak..... ...HELP.

Ron..... ..for some reason, my answer to your earlier post has been deleated.

I asked you to define "rough running".

And this offended someone for some reason so much that our charming webmistress, Kim, felt she had to delete my post?

Remember, your M/S idle mixture is BASSACKWARDS; out for lean, IN for INRICH.

I like to recommend WD-40 as a temporary leaking intake manifold sealer. WD-40 is non-flameable. Leaky manifold gaskets only show up at near idle speed. At fast engine rpms, the leaks can't lean out the mainjet enuff to make rough running.

Sparkies really do make for rough running, specially at higher rpms ..... .Dell

It does run the same roughness at all rpms. Again I"ll check the sparkies.

I"m confused though if bottoming out the idle screw won"t kill the engine then how does it even effect adjustment? Your supposed to start with it one full turn out right? Well I turned it all the way in to seat and all the way out ..... .completely out ..... had it in my hand and the engine was still running the same.

So now what do I do..... ..Think it still is the sparkies?

Like I said before. I didn"t change any of the parts in the kit except for the gaskets because they all looked fine under close inspection.

I'm not Bob or Dell but screwing the idle screw all the way in will not stop the engine from running unless the trottle is at its slowest and even then some times it will not stop the engine. As far as finding a leak yes spraying carb cleaner on the carb/manifold can find an air leak but be careful doing so because if the manifold is very hot it can cause the carb cleaner to burn. An unlit propane tourch will also do the same thing and if it has a leak the engine will sound differant when you hit the leak area
