Thanks for the help and advice. I tried my hand at working up about 2 acres: bushogged, plowed then I"ll let it sit about a week then disc and plant. Problem is I never got a really good furrow going and about half the furrows fell back in after the plow ran through. I went back over some places a couple times and now it looks about half plowed up. I got some roundup and I"ll spray another patch and compare in the spring. I"ll hit it again next weekend. Thanks for the advice!

In addition to what Mike sez, the pitch on the plow has a lot to do with it. Use the leveling box to set the pitch; set the pitch on the plow with the right rear tire in the furrow.

Two things that might help: 1.)make sure your moldboards are clean and shinny - no rust. and 2.) try plowing in second at about 3/4 throttle or faster. That will help throw the furrow over and keep it from falling back in. Also it may take some time to set your plows up properly, but once they are you will do a great job.

In my case, one thing I found out to be true is that a good disking can make up for a poor plow job. LOL

It should go better for you the next time you plow.
