bdunegan, Interesting post. Last year I had several posts here and I got a lot of help. One of the things I did, I bought a new amp gage only to discover that I had to cut the wire and connect to the terminals. It showed charge. While it sat over the winter, the battery went flat. I think points stuck on the voltage regulator. When cranking the engine, the needle dips with the points but it doesn't show a charge now. Though I have run it all summer the battery has stayed charged. In '68 I bought a '51 but last year this forum showed me that I have a '47! Front mount 4 nipple dist. I don't know if the ampmeter is bad or if I hooked up wires wrong. Maybe the wrong regulator sincie I bought it for a '51? Haven't taken time to check it out! Empennage's Link doesn't show terminals.

this thing ran perfect up till this time. like i said, i didnt do anything other than change the guage. could it possibly be the junction block bad? i did crank it for a few short bursts trying to get it to start. could this have stuck anything?

bdunegan..... ....well you could have broken yer 2-terminal junction block but you have eyeballs, lookie-look.

Best guess your weaksister ignition switch is TU. Your moving wires around probably killed it and since it draws from the amp meter, you will gitt NO AMPS meter needle wigglin'.

DO NOT WIRE yer headlights thru yer weaksister ignition switch. Understand?..... ..Dell
