Is this a reasonable option for my 53 Jubilee?

I"m not familiar with features to look for in a quick connect 3 point hitch.

Any opinions?

I bought one of those a while back, but haven"t used it for 2 years.

There are 2 reasons. First is that (as someone else pointed out) It doesn"t work on all 3 point equipment. So I found myself taking it off and putting it back on a lot.

Second is that you can"t use a sway bar with one of those things on. That"s often a serious problem.

I keep thinking about selling mine, but haven"t gotten around to it. It"s just collecting dust now...

Is this true?? Sounds like the dreaded "Show Stopper" 2 me! Some implements require sway bars, especially the ones I use most! (like the back blade/box blade/etc) Was about to make an expedition into Richmond to get one, before readin' ur post! Been lookin' at them, but initially rejected due to the high price, but $69.99 I can get behind, hehehe Can it be modified 2 accept the sway bars?? If not, thanx 4 da heads-up! Probably saved me a bunch of $$ and a couple of trips to Richmond! That's one of the fine things about this board, folks that "been there done that" are free to share the pitfalls with folks that are contemplatin' stuffs! CC

It looks like one of those "gadgets" that sound good until you actually try to use it. I never really thought that a regular 3 point was too big of a deal to work with anyway. Like you, I use stabilizer bars all the time so it won't work for me anyway.

I'm going into town tomorrow to pick one up. Once you've had the luxury of hooking up with a fast hitch, the ol' 3pt just seems like an unbeleivable pain in the butt. You sure couldn't build one for that! God bless harbor freight!

I have a similar one (from TSC), and, while it is a wonderful worksaver, be aware that SOME implements MAY not be able to be picked up by the quick hitch, due to brackets or framework being in the way of the hook at the top, and, also, some implements vary in the measurement from the centerline of the bottom pins, to the third-link attachment point at the top, requiring the top hook on the quick hitch to be unbolted, and adjusted up or down, when changing implements.

I changed (with a cutting torch and welder) the top-link attaching points on a couple of implements, so they interchange quickly, but my Dearborn plow cannot be picked up, because of the top-link attaching point design, and I have (so far) chosen not to modify it 'cause of it being a collector's item.

So, while I think the quick hitches are slicker than sliced bread, be aware of the POSSIBLE issues I mentioned.

Also, at least with the unit from TSC, it comes with ONE set of sleeves that attach to the lower pins with rollpins, and you need to buy additional sets of those for EACH implement you want to pick up with the quickhitch.
