I have a '40 9N, which I just purchased. I am tinkering around with it some, and I have noticed that the hand crank for (leveling) adjusting the stableizer bar on the right rear side is pretty well frozen. I seen a new one that might do the job at TSC, but I am interested in trying to keep the original parts on this tractor. I have looked on here and a couple of other places, but have been unable to locate another one. The old crank almost appears to have possible been welded in much earlier days, which totaly baffles me. Does any one on here happen to have any idea of where I might possibly buy another rod? Thanks in advance.

Mine is frozen solid too. I tried everything, even an acetaline torch to heat it up. Plus I cracked the bottom eye trying to heat and beat the bolt out. I have seen them in stock at the local supply store. Pretty common I guess. Pricey though $125.00, I guess I'll have to bite the bullet on that one. Good luck

How about soaking it with penatrating oil? You can also buy parts to rebuild them.

Thanks. It appears that who ever had it many years ago decided to weld it for what ever reason. Thanks for your suggestion. byw, where in Texas are you located? I am about 25 miles South of San Antonio. Ron

Sarge---for starters, there always seems to be lots of original parts available on EBAY for the N"s. You can put an ad in the classified section on this site as well. Good luck-Tim (WI)

Another suggestion is to find out the publication where the farmers in your area sell their equipment on--I picked up some good implements that way--Tim (WI)
