I am Rewireing a 1949 Chevrolet Skyline Fastback.I need HELP on where the Wires comming from the 12 Volt altenator should be wired to.The Alt has a Pigtail with 1 Red & 1 Black wire..It has 1 Post where 1 more Wire is to be going somewhere...Any help please...Thanks

Take a look at the MAD Electrical site linked below. They do a GREAT job of explaining how to hook up a "3-wire alternator".

They advocate using a remote voltage sensing wire, which is a little more complicated than the simple circuits we use on the "N" tractors, but a good thing to do on vehicles with longer wiring runs.

Bob,I checked out the site You Linked Me to.So it looks like the RED wire from the Pigtail would go to + side of Battery & then run a Wire from the Post on the back of the Alt to Dash for Power...But I didn't see where the BLACK wire from the Pigtail would be Wired to....Sorry Bob,I'm a Dumb Georgia Boy here...thank you for you're help on this Bob...
