I replaced one of my rear tires so I thought I would check the brakes they are lined with grease. The only thing I can think of is the axle seals have failed. Is there any other place that grease can come from? Are the seals hard to replace? THANKS Rick

Yep - your seals needs to be replaced more than likely (unless you have been driving on a steep incline sideways). I posted a link below to John Smith's excellent 8N site that gives you step by step instructions (with pics) to do this job.

Two things I recommend - first, do not order parts until you have everything apart and know exactly what you need and secondly, only fill the hydraulic fluid up to the bottom hole on your side inspection plates. Just pull the bottom bolt out and let it dribble out until it stops.

Good luck,
Dan

Hi, I read your comment about the axle seals, Can I please have that link you gave the other fellow. I did not see it listed within your posted comment. I have same problem - is this something an average Joe can fix?
Thanks,
Steve

Dan is the inspection plate were the dip stick is? I may have over filled after I flushed the water out from Katrina.
