Way back a few years ago I told one of the forum guys that to clean his gas tank he could drop in a length of chain and then tie it to a rear wheel of the tractor and then drive it around and the chain would clean the tank of rust etc.

Do you believe he wanted to sue me when he dropped a length of chain in the tank and tied the other end to his rear wheel and proceeded to nearly pull his head off when the chain started flopping around and hit him in the head and then tore the gas tank completely off the tractor along with the hood????? I think he missed a comma or period or something in the instructions???

Red,naturally you have to drain all fuel from the tank, then remove the fuel strainer from bottom of tank. Un most cases the fuel strainer screen has "disappeared" but if not I usually air pressure it clean and also it's a good time to clean the whole part.If the screen has deterriated I ussually roll up allumnium screen and wedge it carefully in the top inlet. About 2 1/2 in.ought to do.Works for me.

There are 3. One that is on top of the sediment bowl (drain your tank to get that one) you have to unscrew it from the tank. Your sediment bowl itself has a screen, and the elbow were the fuel line attaches to the carb. has a screen in it.
