I though some of yall might think this is cool. I've been married about a year and my wife and I made our first trip from South Carolina to visit her relatives in Canada. My wife kept warning me in particular that her uncle was "kind of quiet" and "hard to get to know" so I shouldn't take it personally if he doesn't speak to me much. I think she thought because he's a logger and I am a MD, we particularly might not have much in common.

So we took a trip out to his farm one day and I noticed his 1952 Case that he had restored. He said he was looking to trade it for an 8N...so I whipped out a picture of my 8N and said "like this one?". A couple 8N stories (and a few beers) later we were the best of freinds...

I'm from around Columbia, just happened to have a pic of the 8N on my cell phone... and indeed I just changed the points on my front mounted distributor and my nails were grimey as all get out yesterday. My wife says I need to start using exam gloves when I work on the tractor.

Great story. Almost everyone has heard of the 9n-2n-8n models and most have either a personal story or knows someone who has and I also find that it is a great conversation starter. And when you start telling about when these particular models were manufactured, their eyes pop open...sorta like "You are an expert"....Ron..BTW, when I come in for my operation, first thing I want to do is look at the grime under your fingernails....lol

I don't carry a picture but I have 5 grandchildren and everyone had to have his or her picture taken when they got old enough to sit behind the wheel of the 9N by themselves.
