This is the first 8N that I have seen set up specifically for tractor pulls. I thought they are too light to be competitive. (maybe that is why he is selling?)

I'd kinda like to get into the pulling stuff. but only have a couple of little 2N's. How does one get setup and what are those long bars coming back to the drawbar for?????

Those are wheely bars [tip over bars] so that if the tractor rares up to high in the front the bars will keep it from going over backward. These are required at most all pulls in our area. Go to www.natpa.com for rules. Most beginers start in the division 1 class.
Main thing is to keep your hitch as close to the rear end and as high off of the ground as rules permit.
We pull by weight class [weight of the tractor with the driver on] not plow rating. AC,A-B-C Ferginson 20s, IH, A-b JD, H and any n-series are what is generally in the class. Having a step down trans. helps a bunch since 1st. gear is as fast as 2nd. gear on other tractors

i would like to hear more on pulling the fords, i was told to "be careful entering the n series fords in tractor pulls because if you enter a 2plow classes, you will be up against stuff like a john deere B, which is also rated a 2plow tractor, but has a lot more weight and tourque than the ford so you cant be competitive against it" what do you all say?

We have a 8-n set up very similar to this one with the same engine modifications. Very hard to beat in classes under #3250. Most fords ,if set up correctly, are hard to beat pound for pound.
