Wondering if there is any of the conversions out there to give your 8N more transmission speeds,I think they were called Sherman conversions?

Ande, Sherman's are the most common (there are a few others) with the "step up" (one range higher) being the most common, and the "step up/down" (one range above your regular gears, and one below) bing the less common and the more popular. Here in Upstate, NY, the "step up" will cost approx. $400 and the "up/down" between $600 and $750. Parts ARE available. Check out Dave Smith's Ford Page, he even has the templates for drilling the torque tube. We have a "step up" in our '46 2N which is gonna end up in our '50 8N, and another "step up/down" unit for the 2N to make it even more usable. Pete
