I just got done with pulling the head and cleaning it up with some SeaFoam, put in new gaskets, rebuilt the carb, new plugs, points/cond. & rotor. She purrrrs like a kitten now. It is a worker too but mostly Bush Hog'n the yard.

Nice paint !! I'd be afraid to use a tractor if it looked like that !! Mine are workers.

That is COOL! I do like the original colors, but there is nothing wrong with a little individuality, especially when it is done as nicely as you have done. I sure wish I had those painting skills, and my two tractors wouldn't be sporting the orange peel finish they do!

Great job!

Dan

Great pix. I'd love to see some more from a wider angle.

I think it would be neat to paint one with original colors but do something like your flames very subtley under the Ford grey.

Brian

Thanks all.

Painting is the easy part. Prep is the hard part.
A good long board will make sanding much easyer and produce the nice flat surface. Also a good gun and clean shop air is important. A cheap Harbor Frieght gun might do base coat ok but it wont do claer coat well at all. A good one thats not too $$ is the GTI by devilbis.

The company I get my pigments from has some pics of my Tractor.

Close. It is a 2 door fastback, 1966 Ltd. Same thing as the galaxie just different trim and door panels. wish it was a Galaxie 500 XL.
I do have a 1965 Galaxie 500 tho. They are both projects right now. As is the 1960 Ranchero, 1970 Cougar & 1976 Corvette.

Thanks.
