Hello guys, I have a 1949 8n with a 6v positive ground system. However I want to pull a log splitter with a 12 volt negative ground OR 12 volt positive ground electrical system on it (I don’t know yet what it is other than its 12 volt), will I run into problems? Also, out of curiosity, how about if it was a 6 volt negative ground?

thanks guys!

As long as your useing 2 batterys and the only point of hook up is the hitch you have no problems. But it you start hooking up wires from one to the other then you may have a problem

Yes sort of but haveing more then one person say the same thing in another way always seems to help get the point through

Ah, I see. So are you insinuating that an answer only gains credibility after YOU'VE acknowledged it or that I personally lack credibility and MY answers need to be independently verified?

Well I guess thats a yes, no and sort of thing. I've just found at time people want to here from more then one person when they ask a question so some times I will post just to make sure the person understands. Of course some time just one post is ok also. If I had a $1 for every time some one posted the same thing I said I would have enough money to keep me in beeer for the next year or 2 LOL

Different ground polarities and voltages aren't an issue unless other wiring between the two systems is intermixed. Go split some wood!
