After removal and disassembly of the hydraulic cylinder on my NAA, I found a piston with six (6) ring grooves and one (1) larger o-ring groove? Can anyone give me any ideas if this is the correct piston for the tractor? I don't recall seeing anything like this on the 2,9 or 8Ns. The piston also has some odd scoring marks accross the grooves. I will try to post picures if I can figure out how to do it! Thanks!

RCJ..... ..you write..... "Can anyone give me any ideas if this is the correct piston for the tractor?"..... ..NO!!! It is NOT CORRECT. Quit playing guessing games, byte the bullett and buy a NEW "O-ring" piston. $20, cheap..... .respectfully, Dell

Dell...
My thoughts were this, if anyone could recognize the piston from my description, I thought it might give some indication if someone bore-cut the cylinder even though I had never heard of such a thing. After I got the cover off one bolt lead to another and so on until I had the whole system disassembled. When I found the 7 groove piston it was a bit of a surprise. It got me thinking about the system as a whole. The system will, prior to my disassembly, hold a 460lb box blade off the ground for about 5 hours before leak down. Fairly tight, I thought? Respectfully,
RCJ

Perhaps someone cut an oring groove (s) into an older piston vs buying a new piston.
