looking at ford 800 series tractor on ebay, its listed as rated at 50 horsepower. can this be correct? thank you.

Our 861 174ci ohv red tiger engine rates at just under 50 as I recall.

Neb test put them right at 45HP give or take a little but some people just take a guess as to what the HP really is. Now yes a person could probably do some work to one and get it up that high if not higher.

thanks soundguy& old for the reply.seller saying something about a special engine that ford produced for a short time dont know a lot about any series except the N. considering this rather than hanging a loader on my 8/9n.

Depending on which one it is they do make a good loader tractor. But if it doesn't have power steering and either the 5 speed or 4 speed I wouldn't even look at it. I have an 841 with a big heavy loader on it and love it. But it also has power steering and a sherman combo tranny so it does a good job and because of the sherman tranny has more power then the normal 841 would have. Or should I say it this way with the sherman and haveing the lower speeds it can do more then one with just the plain 4 speed can do

Depends on what hp rating they are looking at. i see 48 pto hp listed for the diesel engines.
