While cleaning out my hydraulics, I found this piece in the bottom of the case. It's app 3/4" X 3/16" has ribs on 2 sides kinda like re-bar. One end is rusty & the other appears to have snapped off recently. Any ideas where it came from? I posted a picture in "parts & pieces" but don't seem to be smart enuff to get it to post here! I thought "with age, comes wisdom". Doesn't seem to apply to me. :-(

Poot....I don't know what the part is, but it is not: Poot..... ..iff'n yer dimensions are "correct" (3/16 dia) then yer unknown part is the broken-off dowl pin; p/n: 73339-S18, 3/16x1-1/4" in yer long hang-down lift control lever.
I think Dell just looked at the wrong part number, since they are side by side
The 73339 is 3/8x1-1/4 , and I ain't never seen one worn down to 3/16.I will venture a guess that it is a broken 73344 dowel pin which is 3/16x1-3/8 and sticks out about 3/4 or so.This pin goes into the 680 arm,not the control rod. don b

As fer posting a picture, the simplest way after you've up-loaded it to enny picture hosting address, is to "RIGHT-CLICK" on yer new picture that you've posted and then click on the "copy image location" address part of the drop-down menu..... then at the BOTTOM of your post are 3-horizontal boxes, the very bottom box is labeled "optional image" that you PASTE yer previous right-clicked photo address.

I use "control+V" on the keyboard. Others use the mouse and click on the "paste" at the top horizontal bar "edit" drop-down menu. When you "preview yer reply", yer picture should show up, iff'n it didn't, ya done sumptin wrong.

Infact, it took me 6-trys to findout why my picture posting explanation didn't post. didn't like my using U R L in the message. I kept having to click on the "previous page" arrow at the top of the page. Dunnno why but that is the way it is, sometimes. Simple, eh?..... ..Dell, the non-computer 'spurt

Did you check to see if the piece is magnetized? Sometimes a magnet is placed in the bottom of a sump to gather iron dust as it settles out of suspension. JMHO..Ron

Thanx for posting the picture for me Marty. I'm new at computers & know absolutely nothing about "copy & paste" etc. Posting the picture on the other side was a snap but getting it over here is my problem. I'm gonna take the cover off today & I'm sure I'll find out what it is... just curious. Thanx again for your help.
