She is up and running, (Engine overhaul is so far so good). Clutch is now working great (Was the pressure plate). Now the next questions.

1. Hydraulics are working good, but she sit for about 5 years, should I run her with some (2gal's)diesel fuel added to the unit for a few and then change the fluid?

2. I want to paint her when all is complete, Does
anyone have the correct paint color numbers and the best place to buy it?

I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE FOR ALL THE HELP THEY HAVE GIVIN' ME ON THIS PROJECT!!

Thanks again
Nova

Bill,

Let me know anything you have a question with!

I can start by telling you that price all your parts and double the cost for the job. (machine shops are high) I had the valve seats and sleeves done at the shop. Get your crankshaft turned and they can tell you what size bearings to buy. The bushings for the wrist pins in the rods will need to be sized at the machine shop and you might as well have the rods checked and resized while you have them there. The oil pump rebuild kit has a new bushing that will require it to be sized as well, also the oil pump pickup tube MUST be tight(air tight) and the body will have scores on it they should be removed.(want as much oil pressure as you can get)Pistons....arrows towards the front on the engine and numbers on the rods on the cam side(cam locks on the rods bearings are NOT on the cam side)but remember..each half, goes LOCK TO LOCK. There is plugs on each end of the engine...remove them and clean the tubeout, this is you main oil path (a 410 shootgun brass brush works GREAT!) Just some stuff real quick off the top of my head.... Drop me a line if'in you have anything you nedd to know! I will try to help. OH YEAH.....When you torque the bolts, etc. Just remember, things 50 years ago were NOT as hard as they are now. I did NOT over torque anything, just went to the low end.

Nova: I had good success with paint from New Holland. I just asked for the 8n colors and got a gallon each. Had enough for extra stuff like implements, trailer, etc. and for regular touchups. See current issue of N Newsletter. You might want to consider a hardner for the grey. Paint is affordable but takes a while to dry and cure so you can stand hard use. You can work your u-know-what off trying perfectly match what someone says. Make it simple. Prime areas to be red with grey primer and grey ares with red (rust) primer. Makes a better finish. My 2 cents worth.
