You would need more than just a three point attachment to do tiller work with an N since first gear is too fast for what you would want a tiller for.

Unless you have acres to till--in which case you want to look at plows and discs--your best bet is to make friends at the rental shop and get their rear tine walk behind machine.

Your mileage may vary

Pat..... ..folks are correct. You might want to do a search on the "archives" at the top of this great N-Board.

The N-Tractor is just too high geared to be a rototiller machine, but it is a very good 2-bottom plowing fool. And Sherman aux trannys don't help slow it down eather.

There is a rare and fragile "Howard" aux tranny that mounts behind the main tranny that does slow down the N-Tractor enuff to make it rototillerable. But most Howards have been "trashed" because they really wern't strong enuff.

Now then, that hydraulic 3-point lift is a really neat scheme and I have seen 6' rototillers with an auxillary 10-20 hp engine being pulled thru the soil behind N-Tractors and at the end of the row the tractor lifts the rototiller up and then turns around and goes the other direction.

At the time I saw these aux engine rototillers, I really didn't pay attention to who made them and I haven't seen any since 1975..... ...Dell

Northern tool has something similar to the aux engine tiller you mentioned but it is not three point equipment.
