Guys, About the only place I have never been in a tractor is the Ford hydraulics...the 2N has been showing signs of needing a rebuild(jumping when going down, leaking down quickly, up without as much umph...) so it's time. I have read the manual over and it seems pretty straight forward, but my question is: lately it has been locking in the up position (will only go down if I either turn it off and restart, or disengage the pto then reengage) is there something to look for other than a normal rebuild here? Or is that normal when things gat bad enough? Thanks. Pete

Pete....probably a sticking control valve. Most likely your pump does not need an overhaul. You may get by with just replacing the relief valve and ram piston.Probablly what it needs most is changing the oil and cleaning everything good.Gunk gets into everything and the hyds won't operate as it should. don b

Don, OK Thanks, just wanted to make sure I don't have anything ultra weird going on...have a Super M block out being machined, and have time to do some maintenance so I',m gonna go through the 2N hydraulics starting in about an hour! Thanks Pete
