Does anyone own or is anyone familiar with the adult atv sold by tractor supply?
it goes under the name manco power sport.
it is 260cc 4wd.
it lists for approx. 4 thousand.
i have been looking for an atv to get into the woods where my 8n cannot go, sucd as some pretty hilly spots. it would be used to haul firewood.
i understand its limitations as far as being able to only carry small amounts of wood at a time, but i can deal with that.
i have been pricing the name brands and they are going for the kind of money i do not want to spend.
another alternative would be a cheap used 4wd pickup. but that would be another post.

I think you would be beter off getting a used
machine from a large ATV dealer. They will have a few
years old 4x4 400 or more cc which will outlast
the chineese, and have replacement parts available.

Hondas are know to be the werkhorse on the ATV market. Not the fastest or best ride"in.
Fer the best deal on a Honda you need to find a "powere house dealer" if one izz close by i have seen them sell"em fer $1000 less than a regular dealer. their are only 5 Power house deales in the USA, a link to find a dealer, look fer a Power house dealer.

Go with what your heart tells you. Just remember you get what you pay for. I have a Polaris 2001 Sportsman 400 and have used it fairly hard and it still runs great. Most of them are about the same and will do the same thing as far as work is concerned. I also have a 2000 Yamaha Big Bear 400 and it is also a good machine just prefer the polaris. More clearance as far as what you can go over. Good luck with whatever you get.-Bill

I don't know about the Manco ATV's but this is my 4wd Yamaha with the belt drive tranny. WE've been LOGGING with it for several years. It will drag an 8' log up to 18" diameter. Never had a problem with it. Firewood would ba a piece of cake..

You will be disappointed in a 260cc machine. I have a 350 4x4 and while it does do some heavy work, I would like to have a 600cc machine. You should be able to get a large name brand machine for $4000 less than 5 years old.

The CVT transmission(belt drive)will not handle a lot of heavy pulling. Unfortunately most of the new units are belt drive. Dealers will tell you to get a geared transmission if you plan to do heavy farm work.

A neighbor a MANCO 4-wheeler, and seems to have good luck with it, although I don't think it gets used hard.

FWIW, here's MANCO's website:

Be careful with some of those off brand ATV's, a friend of mine bought one and ended up selling a few months later (cheaply made and put together), you would be better off buying a used name brand ATV (Honda, Yamaha, Etc.) Just my .02 worth
Good Luck
