Every 3 years, I receiver my PA USE TAX report from the State of PA.

The State is clamping down on purchases made out of state using 800 ;phone numbers and the inter-net. We are to pay the PA Sales Tax on any items purchased where-in no sales taxes were collected at the same rate of 6% PA Sales Tax.

I just finished reviewing all of my receipt for the last 3 yrs.

Actually payment of PA sales tax is to be made within 20 days from purchases.

A few years ago my Buddy played hockey for the Philadelphia Flyers. When I went to visit him I was surprised that many of the players cars had New Jersey licence plates. When I asked about this most of the players lived in New Jersey because of the high tax rate for them in PA. Lots of lost revenue there!

According to thr Charlotte Observer there are thousands of NJ people registering their cars in NC. Some loophole in the NC law allows this and it is a rapidly growing problem.

Not sure about North Carolina, but the state of Florida does not require STATE inspections on autos. Lots of out-of-staters register their cars here in FL. Not sure what state insures their autos, though.

Yep! most of the Flyer's live in NJ. At this time
of year PA Lic plates are frequent visitors to the NJ beer stores on Route #73 (across the Bridge)

New Jersey also has cheaper GAS than NY,PA,Del. Why? because they don't allow self service! and that means the big oil companies have competition from the MOM& POPs.

I lived in Delaware for about 10 yrs. No Sales Tax there.

For awhile in the 70's, the PA and NJ State police would stop cars at random and check if purchases were made in Delware. They would give you a slip of paper to claim your purchases in Delaware and send the sales taxes to your home state, within 10 days. Especially this time of year when WE all bought our big ticket items in Delaware.

Am not sure is they still do this practice. But recently I was in Delaware on business and noticed all those PA, NJ, MD cars in the park'n lots. Thanks. John,PA

OH YEA...I got stopped once in PA for having too many cigarettes in the car with the DELAWARE stamp on them. Trooper just gave ma a warn'N.

Yep, the government is totally out of hand and control of the taxpayers!!

Sooner or later we gonna have to git a grip on that!!

Hence the right to own and bear arms.

Fer that very reason.

But they are doing away with that one day at a time.

Actually the only service that I purchase out of State is my Internet Service Provider. Since they, the ISP does not charge me PA Sales Tax as a "SERVICE", I only have to pay the State of PA approx $.60 per month for the past 3 yrs., phus interest. No penalties because I have until Jan 20, to FESS-UP. So, I have to compute how much I owe them and get dem some money. Otherwise I stand a good chance of a STATE AUDIT.

Credit Card Purchases are checked on, obviously.

I agree about the laws.

This past summer, I buried a sister-in-law. The undertaker had to notify the State and Feds about her passing, thru her SS number.

Within 5 days, I helped my aged brother finish her "Paperwork".

Basically, if the State paid any monies for her financial survival..food stamps..medicaid, etc. The STate will send my brother their "bill" for the PA Dept of RECLAMATION. Thus, if she left any kind of "ESTATE", the STATE could force my brother to sell his property to pay the STATE's bill. As if was, she had NO estate.

The STATE only has 45 days to notify of any claims against her estate.

Moral to the story: Never trust those give-away programs as advertised on TV. Could eventually catch up to ya.

Thanks for list'N John,PA

Quit gripin' and do your duty!
If you live there,...then pay the taxes there! And VOTE there to change laws you don't like. Otherwise MOVE! I suggest the middle east might be a good place for those who disobey the law yet complain about others that do too.
