Here are pics of my grill after loosening the lower bolts on the dog legs. The upper right has a 1" 5/16" bolt coming down from the top and a nut that was screwed on a couple of threads, the left side has just the bolt. Is this original factory?

These grills are designed for easy cleaning of the radiator fins... by allowing them to swing down without removing any nuts, bolts etc... They pivot on the bottom and are held in on the top by 2 spring loaded studs on the ends of the grille that go into the hood.

Spring loaded pins that push up into the holes above the grill? Was there a piece that stuck out the front to allow one's fingers to depress the pins?
Anybody got a pic they can show?

Ray,
This is a before shot of my 2N grill that clearly shows three alignment pins on top. I'm not sure but I suspect the 8N attachment is similar. Hope this helps.
